Camillo Olivetti often used to say that the shape of a machine has a special value. A typing machine is not an ornament literally full of an excessive number of decorative elements: what it needs is a simple, but at the same time functional and elegant look. The project brief of Fax_Lab 650 and 680 satisfies such requirements as per Olivetti instructions: to redesign a new fax machine simplifying the shape and subsequently its use. For example by rendering asymmetrical and by placing on a level and inclined surface the interface with a view to providing the right volumes of components and rationalize both the design and the relevant button or switch distribution.
